Our aim
We want this site to be usable by as many people as possible, including visitors using a screen reader, keyboard navigation, magnification, or a browser set to reduce motion. We aim to meet the WCAG 2.1 Level AA standard.
What we have built in
- Every page works with the keyboard alone, and focus is visible on links, buttons and form fields.
- Form fields have labels, errors are announced, and the error summary links to the field that needs attention.
- The home page slider can be paused by hovering or by moving focus into it, and it does not advance at all when the browser is set to reduce motion.
- Decorative animation is disabled entirely under
prefers-reduced-motion, and content is never left hidden if an animation fails to run. - Images carry alternative text, and images that are purely decorative are hidden from screen readers.
- Text contrast on the dark palette is checked against AA thresholds.
- Touch targets on phones and tablets are sized to at least 44 pixels.
Known limitations
- The office maps on the contact page are embedded from Google Maps. We do not control their interface; the same addresses are given as plain text directly above each map.
- Some project photography is descriptive rather than fully detailed in its alternative text. We are improving this as new photography is added.
