Mass Participation Events
Seven consecutive years of city marathons and road races — timing infrastructure, participant registration and start-line technology.
The project
City marathons and road races in four Indian metros, delivered for seven consecutive years. PRIME supplied the timing infrastructure, participant registration and the technology at the start line.
The scale is the story here, and only you have the numbers:
- Participants per event, and across the seven years
- Which four cities, and which race properties
- Who the organising client was, if nameable
What made it demanding
Mass participation inverts the usual event problem. There is no rehearsal, the crowd arrives all at once, and every participant is a record that has to be right — timed accurately, on a public results list, the same morning.
Registration has to absorb a surge without a queue, timing has to survive thousands of people crossing a mat in a compressed window, and the start line runs to a gun, not a run-sheet.
Add the operational reality:
- Peak registration throughput and how it was handled
- Timing technology used and its accuracy tolerance
- How results were published and how quickly
Scope delivered
Computerised participant registration, timing infrastructure and start-line technology, repeated across four cities and seven editions — the same technology stack PRIME runs for conference registration, scaled to a public field.
Confirm scope and add anything missing: bib and RFID production, on-site help desks, results publishing, spectator screens, crew numbers per city.
Outcome
For an event technology buyer this is the whole pitch:
- Total participants processed across the seven years
- Registration or timing error rate, if measured
- Why the mandate was renewed six times
In the client's words
A quote from the race organiser, attributed to a named person with their role. Leave this section out entirely rather than publishing an unattributed or invented quote.
